The ducks are getting big. They are easily 4 times the size of the Turkeys which I got at the same time. I think they are competitive with the Cornish Cross, but I have not yet looked up the feed to meat ratio.
I think the white one may be a drake, but I’m not sure what drake behavior looks like.
The ducks can not tolerate being separated, even for a few minutes. It’s very traumatic. And they do not under any circumstances socialize with chickens.
One of the cherry bushes I planted last year has 5 buds. It’s so small, I’m surprised it has any.
I planted both Black Currants and Jostaberries last year. I’m guessing this is a Jostaberry flower but I’m not sure.
And this would be Black Currant if my original guess was correct.

This recipe is adapted from a bread machine recipe. So if you want to make the dough in a bread machine, just put the ingredients in the right order for your bread machine.
Mix up the dough and let it rise for a while.
Divide the dough into 10 pieces.
Make each piece into a ball.
Roll the ball out to about 6 in. and let rise 20m.
Cook at 500 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
An updated picture of my starts. The empty pots are seeds I planted later.
Here are the plants I bought at the store waiting to get planted.
This is her 3rd year playing violin in the Winter Music Festival so she earned a trophy. In the Music Festival a student plays 2 pieces from memory before a judge with only a musical accompanist present. The judge then writes a critique of the students performance. The experience is very similar to trying out for a part…preparation, nerves, etc.
She also has completed the first Suzuki book, a major accomplishment. She now needs to prepare for her first book recital.
brown rice, sugar, cinnamon and milk.
I like the brown rice cereal better than white, but my kids like the white rice better because it cooks faster.
The secret to having children who are best friends, rests in correcting attitudes.
Many years ago the Lord revealed this secrete to me: He judges our hearts.
And he will judge our childrens hearts too.
When we train up our children, we need to train up their hearts also. Ongoing sibling difficulties are really hearts that need to be guided. When a child’s heart is not full of, jealousy, pride etc. all sibling conflicts are trivial and easily resolved.
Set the boundaries for appropriate ways to express emotion. For us, this mostly means the way we are to talk to each other.
Don’t overlook language. If one child is boasting to another child what is the intention really. Is it the spirit you want to encourage? Is it the habit which you want to get ingrained?
Take the time to train a young child early in The Straight and Narrow Way. Provide an environment where children are free to invest in each other without negative consequences.
A mother’s greatest joy is seeing her children become best friends.

I finally made it to cleaning out the barn, well, halfway cleaned. Boy was it deep! I didn’t get the barn cleaned out for some time due to ongoing health problems. I can’t wait to have this job finnished!
