Beer Update

We have tasted all our beer.

I have only gotten to taste since we are still waiting for baby to be born.

The bear tooth stout turned out well. It is a dark, very hoppy stout. It reminds me of Missoul MT. Not quite as good as Moose Drool out of the tap, but better than Moose Drool when its bottled.

The next beer we brewed was Pilsner. It turned out as an average Pilsner.

Its still getting better with age. A couple more months and it may be a superior Pilsner.

The last beer we bottled was an Alpine Steam.

The Alpine Steam turned out very, very good.

I will definitely be brewing this beer again very soon.

The Easiest Way to Make Wort

The easiest way to make a wort is by purchasing a can.

First sanitize the fermentation bucket and all utensils.

Add some water and then add the can.

Add the sugar.

Add the malt or other ingredients.

Fill to the 5 gallon mark. Pitch the the yeast and stir.

Put the lid on and the “thingy” also called the exhaust trap.

Fermentation usually takes 4 days to a week.

Bottling

Here’s a picture of the Bear Tooth Stout all bottled. Now we have to wait at least 10 days and longer is better.

Beartooth Stout

It has been a very long time since we have brewed any beer ourselves.

Now I have big plans!

Making the wort.

All ready for the fermentation stage.

The starting gravity was 49.
